Client: Gravestar Inc. Brief: Reconfiguration of a strip mall into mixed use development Size: 2.6 hectares Status: Conceptual Master Plan completed
This masterplan transforms a typical strip shopping centre into a set of urban blocks that both frame a public square and are integrated with their context. Parking is submerged, cycle and pedestrian routes traverse the site, and the underground subway is extended to emerge in a safe and welcoming location fronting the square. Much needed homes are provided above a ground floor of shops, restaurants and community uses.
